President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in Beijing on Wednesday, starting a three-day state visit to China. The visit aimed at boosting bilateral ties.

Chinese President Hu Jintao is expected to hold talks with Karimov. Karimov will also meet with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

Two heads of states will exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interests. China and Uzbekistan are both members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a regional organisation founded in 2001. SCO launched a regional anti-terrorism agency in Uzbekistan\'s capital Tashkent.
