Law project “On introducing amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a view to further advancing of the training and certification system of scientific and scientific- pedagogical personnel”, elaborated in accordance with a Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from June 24, 2012, “On further advancing training and certification system of scientific and scientific- pedagogical personnel” has been considered in the held on June 6 of this year the next session of the Legislative chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The draft law provides the introduction of a single-stage system of the postgraduate education with protection and awarding the degree of Doctor of Science in accordance with generally accepted international regulations and standards. In this regard, the draft law proposes to exclude from the Labor and Housing Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the laws \"On State Pensions\", \"On Education\", and the National Program for Training the personnel the term \"postgraduate studies\", and the term \"doctorate\" is replaced to the \"Institute of senior researchers \", “degrees \"- to \"the degree”.
