This year, the country plans to construct and reconstruct 526 km of roads with accordance to international standards
Tashkent hosted a press conference dedicated to the development of the road transport system in Uzbekistan. As noted by the event organizers, organizations and businesses, SJC Uzavtoyul has already reconstructed this year four line sections of the Uzbek National Highway with length of 59 km. In addition, major repairs of roads stretching over 21 km.
To note, the State Program \"Year of Well-being and Prosperity\" pays a special attention to the development of modern roads and engineering infrastructure. Construction, reconstruction and repair of roads, which is over 500 km is planned. Moreover, in the first quarter of the year, a number of large projects were has been put into operation in regions of the country. So, before the holiday Navruz two modern motorways were put into operation. First, with length of 54 km, is built around Quqon.
Now for the more than 7.000 vehicles daily moving in the direction of Tashkent-Andijon, way is shorter for 14 km. Another modern highway was a 8-km stretch of road around the capital area of Sergeli.
In addition, companies engaged in the content of every public road and road elements. In 2012, 300 billion soums were allocated and 2.100 km of road coverage were repaired. This year, for these purposes 350 billion soums (Currency rates of CB from 10.06.2013 1$=2084.95 soums) will be allocated. For 5 months of this year, enterprises of the SJC Uzavtoyul worked on the current repairs and maintenance of roads for 160 billion soums, repairing about 950 km of roads.
In general, until 2015, the country has provided for the construction, renovation and conversion to a four line system has 1.487 km of roads, part of the Uzbek national highway. There will also be purchased 444 units of machinery and equipment valued at US$34.9m, modernized manufacturing and industrial base 24 road construction and maintenance companies.
