Opera and ballet’s great triumph
The closing ceremony of the third international festival of opera and ballet \"Toshkent bahori\" (\"Tashkent Spring\") was held at the Turkistan arts palace.
Contemporary theater arts require constant search for new forms and contacts, sharing achievements to strengthen cultural and educational relations. Such an opportunity for mutual communication, familiarity with the culture of different countries is provided by the \"Toshkent bahori\" traditional international festival of opera and ballet. It was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekteatr creative and production association, State academic bolshoi theatre named after Alisher Navoi, the Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation.
At the closing ceremony of the festival, director of the State academic bolshoi theatre named after Alisher Navoi B.Yakubov said that the festival was made possible thanks to the great attention, given under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, to the development of arts, culture and spirituality. The reforms in this area, conducted in the years of independence, have contributed to creating the necessary conditions for freedom of creativity, encouraging artists to reach new creative heights and enriching theatrical art.
- There are many talented young people in Uzbekistan- says Maurizio Ciampi, an Italian conductor and composer, professor of the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia, director of Bellini international opera festival. - Theatre and art groups, artists and musicians from Uzbekistan actively participate in prestigious international competitions, parades, festivals and concerts, frequently they are winners there. I often come to Uzbekistan, but each time I am discovering new things. This was no exception and Uzbek bel canto masters, together with foreign colleagues performed excellently during the festival.
This year, the festival was attended by eminent masters of opera and ballet from Italy, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, who gave the audience an unforgettable meeting with the beautiful and eternal art of opera and ballet, allowed to re-open the great works of great composers. This celebration of art was an opportunity to expand and strengthen the friendly and creative contacts, learn from the best achievements of the opera and ballet soloists from around the world.
In the Turkistan Palace of Arts viewers were able to see the world\'s masterpieces of opera and ballet: Giuseppe Verdi\'s opera \"La Traviata\", \"La Boheme\" by Giacomo Puccini, \"The Tsar\'s Bride\" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s \"Cavalleria Rusticana\" by Pietro Mascagni, Tchaikovsky\'s \"Swan Lake\".
The third international festival of opera and ballet \"Tashkent bahori 2013\" wrapped up with a gala concert.
