The Experts discussed the impact of crisis on the energy sector
Traditionally, in May the capital of Uzbekistan becomes a center of attraction for the oil and gas industry worldwide. The international exhibition and conference Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan brings together representatives of leading companies, experts from international financial institutions and political centers in order to discuss the future of the fuel and energy complex and the impact of the energy factor in the global economy.
This year\'s exhibition and conference brought together more than 160 companies from 25 countries, as well as some 500 experts, scholars and representatives of international companies and organizations, industry experts. It is no accident that one of the main topics of discussion was the crises in the global economy and their impact on the development of the energy sector and international oil and gas markets.
Introduction of modern technologies to improve productivity of deposits, deepening of processing of raw materials and development of new products was called a key trend in the field, which, incidentally, is being actively promoted in Uzbekistan.
For example, a unique project is being implemented in Uzbekistan for the production of synthetic liquid fuel technology GTL, owned by South African company SASOL. The whole world is now talking about the need to develop alternative sources of energy. In this regard, GTL-production will be a promising and innovative solution. In the future, the new plant will produce diesel fuel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas and naphtha from methane meeting Euro-4 and Euro-5 emission standard.
In addition, it should be noted the construction of Ustyurt gas-chemical complex at Surgil deposit. The project will provide in 2016 the annual production of 4.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 400,000 tons of high-density polyethylene, 100,000 tons of polypropylene, 110,000 tons of pyrolysis gasoline with the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs in the plant.
According to Sanjar Berdiev, chief specialist at Uzbekneftegaz, Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan Exhibition is the expansion of international cooperation in the field, further strengthening of existing ties and development of investment activity: “Our company implemented 475 projects in 2008-2012, resulting in additionally produced 19.9 million cubic meters of natural gas, 126.8 thousand tons of oil, 717.5 thousand tons of gas condensate and 69.1 million tons of propane-butane fraction. Based on the introduction of innovative projects our company has produced 126.5 tons of innovative products. In this exhibition, we are going to sign a lot of prospective contracts.”
As noted by participants of the event, today the domestic oil and gas sector has significant prospects for growth. The main thing is not to miss the current market situation and continue to work on the introduction of advanced equipment, attracting foreign investment and leading companies with advanced technologies.
