A Festivity to Remember. Fund Forum’s trendy project kicks off today
Initiated by the Fund Forum, an event most looked forward to – the Festival of Traditional Culture “Asrlar Sadosi 2013” for the sixth time brings together locals and guests from foreign countries keen to get a clue about the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
For five years the Asrlar Sadosi (Echo of Ages) is in the run, it has been visited by more than 200 thousand people. The project itself has received a wide resonance in the media and earned high accolade of the international community.
The festival opens with a round table discussion to address the role of culture in human development. Afterwards, a conference on architectural epigraphy is due in Bukhoro with presentation of books.
Each book is considered a bibliographic rarity and represents a special unique collection of data about writings from architectural monuments of the past – mosques, madrassahs and other shrines.
Science prevails in the program of this year festival. Within the project will be organized conferences and workshops.
Annually the festival is organized in the format of street festivities in various regions of Uzbekistan, in historical and cultural centers, each of which has its unique spiritual heritage, centuries-old traditions, carefully passed on from generation to generation.
This year the festival is hosted by one of the main natural galleries of prehistoric art of Uzbekistan – the tract Sarmishsai. The project is organized by the Fund Forum and UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan.
All rush for Navoi region, where guests could visit an inimitable fair of applied art articles, performances of folklore groups, representing all regions of the country, savor of Uzbek meals, as well as tracery and colors of the show of national dress. The program of the festival also includes national games, kupkari (Uzbek equestrian), competition on kurash, cock fighting and rams fighting, and performances of rope walkers.
The gallery of rock paintings will take all participants of the festival to several centuries back, for two days turning into a kind of time machine and bridge for cultures of two far from each other epochs. (Source: Uzbekistan today newspaper)
