Uzbek Women in Frenchwoman’s Eyes
A photo exhibition “Uzbek Women in the Frenchwoman’s Eyes” with the presentation of photographs by the historian Frederique Beaupertuis-Bressand has been organized at Tashkent House of Photography by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Fund Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony of the exposition was attended by representatives of various local ministries and agencies, diplomatic corps in our country, international institutions as well as foreign guests.
The Deputy Chairman the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Jaloliddin Mirtojiev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Uzbekistan Francois Gauthier and other speakers noted that the cooperation between Uzbekistan and France has been advancing steadily in all spheres, including the arts. Uzbek art figures have been extensively demonstrating their artistic creativity in France, while French artists and art historians are regular participants of international exhibitions, biennales and festivals organized in our country.
Frederique Beaupertuis-Bressand scrupulously studies the history, national values, culture and arts of our people for as long as thirty years and is one of the founders of the Paris-headquartered Association for the Study of Culture and Arts of the Temurids. She is currently the secretary general of that organization and the editor-in-chief of the magazine La Timuride.
An enthusiastic promoter of the Uzbek national culture in France, Frederique Beaupertuis-Bressand helps organize, in cooperation with Uzbekistan’s embassy in Paris, exhibitions of artists of our country, concerts of Uzbek classical music and a variety of enlightenment events. She has authored a range of albums, books and articles narrating the history and culture of Uzbekistan, including the life and activities of Mirzo Ulughbek, the role and input made by Samarkand into the development of world civilization.
“The history, culture and arts of Uzbekistan are very rich and enlightening,” says Beaupertuis-Bressand. “In these shots epitomizing a distinctive acknowledgement of my love for your country, I have tried to reflect the humility and sincerity of the Uzbek woman, her inner and outer beauty, and her love for the Motherland, children, family, and at the same time – her resolution, courage, diligence and social activity.” (Source: UzA).
