Solar station to be built in Tashkent region
Uzbekistan is planning to construct solar photoelectric station in Tashkent region, a representative of Uzbekenergo state joint stock company said.
According to the company, solar photoelectric station will be constructed in Parkent district of Tashkent region. The capacity of station will make up 3 megawatt.
Currently, feasibility study of the project is developed by specialists.
Uzbekistan has great opportunities to develop alternative sources of energy. There are 300 sunny days in Uzbekistan a year, which can be used to produce solar energy.
Potential of solar energy in Uzbekistan is rated at 50.973 billion tonnes of oil equivalent, which makes up 99.7% of all studied renewable energy sources. (Source:Uzdayli.com).
