The beauty of waterfalls in Uzbekistan
Well-known waterfalls as angel in South America, Niagara in North America and Victoria in Africa continue to amaze tourists from all over the world.

There are numerous waterfalls in Uzbekistan those are as attractive as world-known waterfalls.

The Southern belle

One of the miracles of nature is Sangardak waterfall (height of 140-150 meters) located in Sariosiyo district of Surkhandaryo region. It attracts travelers with coolness regardless of the summer heat and untouched wildlife around it. At the foot of the waterfall, in a beautiful mountain valley you can perfect to relax. Fresh mountain air, crystal clear water of a mountain stream, the breathtaking landscapes.

Waterfalls in Tashkent region

River Valley Qizilsuv in Tashkent region is popular among travelers for waterfalls and birch trees. Therefore waterfalls in the valley are the most visited places by local and foreign tourists. First Qizilsuv waterfall forms a fairly wide and deep bay. Its height up to 8 meters and well’s depth is more than 2 meters.

Another river in Tavaksai is also famous for its gorges and waterfalls. In winter while the temperature drops below zero stalactites of frozen waterfalls really produces some beautiful sights.

Chimgan Mountains are the favorite recreational place both for residents and tourists. Magnificence, space and beautiful landscape amaze everyone who has ever been there. You can enjoy Small and Big Chimgan, waterfalls Gulkam, Black, Novatosh, water-storage basin Charvak and wild rivers Pskem and Ugam.

A black waterfall (gray limestone under the influence of constant moisture got black) over 40 meters high stands out among the beautiful outstanding natural features of Chimgan.

Gulkam is an incredibly picturesque place with lots of beautiful waterfalls, birch groves, mountain streams, with rapid crystal water, as well as rocky gorges and canyons.

Paltau Valley is located 100 km to the North-West of Tashkent, not far from the place where two mountain rivers coming from the glaciers of Tien-Shan – Koksu and Chatkal – flow into Charvak water reservoir. The word “Paltau” means “iron mountains”. Since ancient times, Paltau has been famous for producing ore rich in iron content.

Paltau waterfall cascades from a height of 38 meters and therefore there is a lot of noise. On a hot summer day the splashes of the waterfall gives a welcome relief. Traveling through Paltau you will see surrounding nature just as ancient men of Paleolithic Era saw it – the landscape did not change from that time, much of flora and fauna remained the same.
