President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on 4 May 2005 on renaming the State Committee for Managing State Property and Supporting Entrepreneurship into the State Committee for Managing State Property.

The move comes after creation of the State Committee for Demonopolization and Supporting Competition and Entrepreneurship on 30 April and aims to divide the functions between the two state organs.
