Technology and Innovation: Uzbekneftegaz expands export capacity
Uzbekistan has completed implementation of the next major project in the oil and gas industry. Unitary subsidiary Shurtanneftegaz Enterprise commissioned fifth place unit for production of propane-butane mixture. This will allow to process three billion cubic meters of natural gas per year and produce up to 50,000 tons of liquefied gas.

As experts said, the project will improve the provision of LPG, as well as increase the volume of exports. In addition, the company will be able to processing of natural gas from the oil fields of the region.

Overall, as a result of the commissioning of the fifth turn will increase the total annual capacity of the plant, processing of gas will increase from 12 to 15 billion cubic meters, and the production of liquefied natural gas - from 190 thousand to 240 thousand tons.

The project was financed by Uzbekneftegaz’s own funds and the loan from the Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan.

To note, today Uzbekistan is one of the largest suppliers of energy resources to foreign markets. Domestic oil and gas sector continues its rapid development, with special attention to the deepening of existing processing of raw materials through the introduction of new production processes, as well as geographical expansion of exports due to the production of new, highly liquid products. In general, the development industry is part of industry development for 2011-2015, according to which Uzbekneftegaz implements approximately 80 investment projects worth US$28.6b in addition, on the stage of development is more than 40 projects with a total cost of about US$9.2b.

For these projects requires not only investments, but also new technology. They were in the focus of attention of scientists, experts and professionals from the UK, Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries arrived in the capital of Uzbekistan in the international conference \"Modern problems and development of oil and gas potential of mineral resources”. During the event, experts discussed the state and prospects of development of domestic oil and gas and the use of the global experience in its further modernization. A particular attention was paid to the state and the development of geological exploration, development and exploitation of oil and gas fields and increase technological efficiency of drilling, improved technology and equipment for oil and gas processing, implementation of software in the design of technology projects. As noted by the participants themselves, such meetings of scientists with production allowed for a fresh look at the processes in the oil and gas sector, to assess the prospects and find new approaches to existing problems.
