A delegation of the European Commission led by Deputy Director General on external relations Michael Lee met the chairman of committee on foreign issues of Senate (upper house of parliament) Sodyk Safaev.

The sides discussed issues on cooperation in interparliament and foreign policy. The European delegation noted that creation of two-chamber parliament in Uzbekistan is important step to democratic government, UzA reported.

The report said the European Union sees Uzbekistan as one of its important partners in Central Asia. It added that the guests visited World Economy and Diplomacy University in Tashkent.
