Uzbek masters of karate won World Cup
The national team of Uzbekistan has won the top award of the second tournament which was held for the World Cup in shotokan karate-do.
About 800 athletes from nearly 20 countries took part in the competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Martial Arts Development Center, the Republican Association of shotokan karate-do and the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation (WSKF).
Our team regularly showing high results in the world championships and World Cups in shotokan karate-do, once again proved its superiority. During the II World Cup, which was held at Uzbekistan sports complex in kata and kumite competitions among children, juniors, youth, women, adults and veterans, our athletes have gathered the greatest number of awards – 33 gold, 36 silver and 44 bronze medals.
The skills of Zavqiddin Shonazarov, Nishon Haydarov, Sanjar Komilov among juniors, Zulayho Boboyeva, Kseniya Kaptenko among women, Anvar Ruziyev, Rustam Toshnazarov, Adham Ibrohimov, Muzaffar Qulijonov and Xujamqul Xujaqulov, Bahodir Boboyev were highly appreciated by experts.
The national team of Uzbekistan, which occupied the first place in the team event, was awarded with the main prize of the World Cup. The second place was taken by the athletes from Kazakhstan. Iran\'s team occupied the third place. (Source: UzA news agency)
