President Accepts Credentials from Ambassadors
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy October 18 accepted credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany – Aristide Emil Fenster, of the Sultanate of Oman – Mohammad bin Said bin Mohammad Al-Lawati, of the Czech Republic – Hynek Pejcha, and of the Islamic Republic of Iran – Ali Mardoniy Fard.
In his greeting statement, President Islam Karimov pointed out the responsible and honorable nature of the post of the head of diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan for the consolidation of bilateral relations and the reinforcement of acting agreements and deals, and wished every success to the diplomats in their important assignments.
The relations with Germany are seen in Uzbekistan as a notable case of a successful and mutually advantageous cooperation with a foreign nation, whereby both sides underline their interest in furthering their interaction in political and diplomatic, economic and investment, cultural and humanitarian, as well as other areas.
Uzbekistan and Germany have succeeded, for instance, in creating and operating joint projects in our country with the involvement of renowned German manufacturers like MAN SE, Claas Gruppe, Knauf, and other global leaders in their respective sectors. The ventures’ high-quality and original products have enjoyed a good deal of demand both in the internal market in Uzbekistan and in adjacent countries.
The ambassador of the Federal Republic said during the conversation that Germany and Uzbekistan wield convincing capacities for the expansion of multilayered ties, and that he is willing to make every effort to facilitate that.
The contemporary friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Oman are built on the solid backbone of historical bonds, and the cultural and spiritual community of our two peoples.
Today, the views by both sides on the majority of international and regional issues are similar and close. Uzbekistan and Oman have been bolstering interaction within the United Nations, the Islamic Cooperation Organization and other institutions.
It was noted at the meeting that the priority spheres in the Uzbek-Omani dialogue include the cooperation in trade and economic, investment, transport and communications areas where the two sides possess a remarkable potential. Likewise, Tashkent and Muscat consider it important to encourage cultural and humanitarian contacts that shall include making a good use of the existing tourist capacities.
Oman’s ambassador stressed that he is especially honored to represent his country in Uzbekistan, in a country that has played a historic role in the formation of Islamic civilization and is currently a key constituent in providing for security and stability in the wider Central Asian region.
During the conversation with the head of Czech diplomatic mission, it was said that both sides attach an essential significance to developing the cooperation built on the results of the Uzbek President’s official visit to the Czech Republic in January 1997.
The two sides have thus far garnered a considerable positive experience of interaction in all different kinds of spheres. Necessary agreement and normative base has been established for shoring up the Uzbek-Czech ties in both bilateral and multilateral formats, primarily in trade and economic as well as investment sectors.
On his part, Hynek Pejcha pointed out that he views further enhancement of bilateral contacts and boosting their practical aspects as his principal task.
The interstate relations between Uzbekistan and Iran are premised on historical ties as much as on the contemporary practice of cooperation.
For the twenty years since our two nations established diplomatic relations, the Uzbek-Iranian interaction has been steadily advancing across areas of shared interest.
The two sides rest a priority significance on the development of trade and economic, transport and communications cooperation. Both countries believe that the practical implementation of the pentalateral agreement on the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar transport corridor is envisioned to create crucial prerequisites for the enlargement of cooperation both in bilateral format and in international scale.
The Iranian ambassador underscored that he sees the further consolidation of bilateral relations and expansion of mutually advantageous cooperation as the major goal of his mission in Uzbekistan.(Source: Press-service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan)
