The Great Ancestors’ Heritage: Exposition of works of masters of various generations
The Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan serves the venue for the retrospective exhibition of products of arts masters of the series Our Heritage. It displays the works of renowned painters who created in various periods of art’s history of the country that makes the exhibition even more interesting.

The exhibition brings together celebrated figures arts and culture figures, connoisseurs of the fine art and sculpture, as well as journalists. The meeting was addressed the national masters of the art of the 20th century.

The exhibition displays more than 150 canvases from the collection of the Board of art exhibitions, author and private collections of such famous painters as Shuhrat Abdurashidov, Viktor Gubsky, Yusif Gyseynov, Ravil Kamilov, Haydar Sanaev, and others. Visitors of the retrospective exhibition explore the history of creation, formation and development of the national school of fine arts of the country.

“Today I feel so good, though with some feeling of bitterness and loss, as all these artists were my close friends and colleagues,” says the academician, Honored Worker of Arts of Uzbekistan Vladimir Burmakin. “Creativity of each of them is one of a kind that is filled with singular world view and love for home places. Masters pass away, but their life and creativity, devoted to the art, turn the heritage for next generations. All this forms a unique school of fine arts of the republic – independent and one of a kind.”

The attendees of the opening ceremony of the exhibition noted that in the late of the 20th century the fine art of Uzbekistan experienced considerable changes in its development. A new Pleiades of talented artists with original creative world view, new ideas and opinions appeared that time in the history of the Uzbek art. Their creative heritage has made a good influence on formation of the new generation of national painters.

“The current exhibition is the final of the series of exhibitions Our Heritage dedicated to the painters of the 20th century,” says the art historian Lyudmila Kodzaeva. “Each of them is a wonderful personality with interesting biography. This is even symbolic that in the year when we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Academy of Arts, we represent a number of retrospectives revealing the panorama of formation and development of Uzbekistan’s arts.”

Thereby, the exhibition draws the interest of arts connoisseurs, admirers of the beauty and talent by demonstrating the products included in the rich heritage of the Uzbek culture. At the same time, each of the authors of works represented in the exhibition has a singular creative individuality and inimitable style. (Source: Uzbekistan Today newspaper)
