Samarqand is hosting an exhibition of works of the artist Ahmad Umarov timed to celebrations of our country’s 21 years of independence.

The exhibition, organized by the Samarqand affiliate of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and regional branch of the Union of Writers of the country, displays more than 40 works of the artist.

The creativity of Ahmad Umarov covers rather wide range of themes, kinds and genres of the art. His portraits, lyrical landscapes and miniatures are distinguished with a singular approach to a chosen theme. Through portraits of famous people he exposes the psychological state and mind of our contemporary, while his lyrical landscapes reflect the beautiful nature of Samarqand and its vicinities. Representatives of art collectives and public, attended in the opening ceremony of the exhibition, noted that the canvases of the painter including Meeting, Portrait of Poetess Jumagul Suvonova, Road to Home, At Source and others demonstrated the wide range of his creativity. Honored Worker of Arts of Uzbekistan, Professor Eson Muhammadiev underscored that the success of Ahmad Umarov is the result of painstaking labor over the material.
