The members of the national team of Uzbekistan have won one gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals at the XI Asian Championship in karate among adults and XII – juniors and youth held in capital.

The competitions were organized under the auspices of the Asian Karate Federation of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan jointly with the Centre for the Development of Martial Arts and the National Federation of Karate in our country. About a thousand athletes from more than thirty countries took part in it.

In the competitions among teenagers, Shahzoda Ortikova won the title of champion of Asia in her weight category. Silver medals went to Sadriddin Saymatov, Jamshid Sayfuddinov, Ahrorbek Nozimboyev, Behzod Tuyyev, Dilnoza Yusupova, Farangiz Khandalova, Zuhra Kurbonova, Dildora Tursunova and the bronze medal was taken by Gofurjon Zohidov.

In team kata competitions among teenagers, our team consisted of Nabijon Yormuhammedov, Aziz Sattorov and Muhammad Otaboboyev took the third place.

In the competitions held among adults, Muhammadzohid Iminov has won the silver, Rustam Ashurov and Dilfuza Akbarova took bronze medals. (Source: UzA news agency)
