In Namangan, the Committee on Democratic Institutions, NGOs and Civil Society Institutions of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting devoted to the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan \"On guarantees of the rights of the child\" in Namangan region.

It was attended by deputies, regional administration officials, law enforcement bodies, representatives of departments of public education, specialized secondary and vocational education, healthcare, public welfare fund \"Makhalla\" and NGOs.

Based on the requirements of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan \"On guarantees of the rights of the child\" commissions on juvenile affairs and departments of the Interior affairs are working on prevention of crime and delinquency, prevention of child neglect. In particular, the Commission on Minors under the regional khokimiyat, monitoring on the execution of these documents were regularly held in cities and regions, the results were discussed at the extended meetings. Appropriate measures were taken in regard to the heads of institutions who have allowed deficiencies, practical assistance provided on correcting them.

Administration of public education organized centers on promoting the convention and the law in schools, monitoring their performance. Documents on the implementation of the law were collected, a unified database established.

The essence and meaning of the law are regularly reported in the mass media.

In the region, particular attention is paid to social and legal protection of children in need of assistance. In particular, the board of trustees and sponsoring boards under the administration of public education, work on child adoption, guardianship registration is held. However, outreach is conducted, arranged \"round tables\" organized on preventing early marriage and kinship organized.

As the press service of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis reports, during the discussion the shortcomings and defects permitted in the enforcement of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan \"On the guarantees of the rights of the child\" was critically considered, information heard from the heads of relevant organizations and institutions, opinions and practical proposals made on addressing these issues.
