Refurbishment of higher education institutions with new facilities gets started
Within the Program on Consolidation of Economic and Technical Capacities of Higher Education Institutions and Cardinal Improvement in Training Highly Qualified Specialists for 2011-2016, it is meant this year to equip 32 blocks of universities with furniture. These days, four of them have been furnished.
Andijon State University and Namangan Engineering-Technological Institute have got their reconstructed learning blocks which lecture halls were equipped with new furniture. Construction works have recently been completed in dormitories of the Qarshi and Termiz State Universities, which were provided with corresponding furniture meant for living spaces. Other blocks of the universities are to get their furniture after completion of reconstructions.
“In implementing construction works and equipping them with furniture, the preference is given to the products of domestic manufacturers,” noted the key specialist of the department of material-technical supply of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education Qurbonnazar Ortiqov. “Concerning furniture, it is completely of domestic production. It is distinct in modern trendy design, multifunctional and comfortable.”
All undertakings on strengthening material-technical base of higher education institutions within the Program on Consolidation of Economic and Technical Capacities of Higher Education Institutions and Cardinal Improvement in Training Highly Qualified Specialists for 2011-2016, are being carried out in accordance with norms of construction and refurbishment that have been reexamined and approved in the beginning of its implementation. All changes in regulations have been made taking into consideration the necessity in wider introduction and application of cutting-edge information-communication technologies and advanced equipments, which are meant to make universities more comfortable and functional.
Currently, construction works are being carried out in 28 objects of the National University of Uzbekistan, Andijon, Qarshi, Termiz and Urganch State Universities, as well as Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent Medical Academy, Tashkent State Agrarian University, Bukhoro Engineering-Technical Institute of High Technologies, Navoi State Mining Institute, and Namangan Engineering-Technological Institute. Simultaneously, preparation works are being carried out on procurement of furniture and sports goods for these education institutions.
Along with it, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education in conjunction with universities and Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Commerce keep working out the issues on procurement of training and laboratory equipments. This year, in accordance with the regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan On Measures on Involvement to Uzbekistan of Free Technical Assistance (grants) of Donor Countries, International Foreign Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations in 2012, it is projected to procure equipments for twelve higher education institutions.
