Water Supply to Improve in Regions: Uzkommunkhizmat and the ADB to perk up water supply in Farghona
55 km of water supply network will be reconstructed and four waterworks will be repaired in 2012-2015 in Farghona.
The joint project with the Asian Development Bank on improvement of water supply systems in underway in Farghona.
“The project, implemented by Uzkommunkhizmat agency together with the Asian Development Bank, will tackle the problem of pure potable water supply,” said Bobur Fayzimatov, the manager of the project group in Farghona. “The outdated pumps will be replaced with the new energy-efficient ones to save more energy and uninterruptedly provide the population with water. By the present time, all of topographic surveys have been held throughout the town and hydrogeological and geological resolutions have been made. It is projected to lay a new water supply system 5.4 kilometers in length along the small ring road. The construction documents are ready and the works on digging trenches and laying pipes have started.
Potable water will be supplied to consumers by modern plastic pipes: they are environmentally friendly and harmless to health. Their use will prevent the improper use of water. Water supply will be improved in the most remote areas of the city; people living in apartment buildings will also be supplied with water uninterruptedly. According to experts, after an upgrade of equipment and plants the costs at electric power plants of Suvoqava Company will reduce twice. This would save considerable resources of the company and enable it to supply the saved electricity to other consumers, to apartment houses, for example.
“Under the project the company plans to purchase vehicles and excavators, truck cranes, special machinery, compressors, welding machines, drilling machines, and cars,” said Murod Yuldashev, Director of Suvoqava Company in Farghona. “That would improve the quality of consumer services. The works on laying the water mains is currently under way in Oq-ariq and Alisher Navoi streets.” (Source: UzDaily.com)
