Asian Chess Championship Among Juniors Took Place in Hikkaduwa
FIDE master of Uzbekistan Temur Igonin showed good results at the Asian Chess Championship held among juniors from 8 to 18 years in Hikkaduwa (Sri Lanka).

Our talented player in the blitz tournament among young athletes up to 12, consisting of seven rounds, defeated the representatives of Vietnam, India and the Philippines. He played with Jiangnan Zhou from China in a draw. Thus, our compatriot scored 5.5 points out of seven possible and won the silver medal.

Temur Igonin played successfully also in the competitions of classical chess, which involved more than thirty players. He has scored 6.5 points and entered the top three.

In the competitions organized in the Swiss style in nine parties, our young chess player checkmated the representatives of Sri Lanka, China, Iran, India, tied with Le Nguyen Khoi, Nguyen Dang Hong from Vietnam and Rakesh Kumar from India. (Source: UzA news agency)
