Uzbek Athletes Won Two More Olympic Tickets
The number of Uzbek athletes who will take part in the forthcoming XXX Summer London Olympics 27 July – 12 August, has increased by two athletes.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan, the team members of Uzbekistan Elena Smolyanova and Sukhrob Khodjayev won Olympic tickets in the competitions in track and field organized in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
In shot throwing competitions, Elena Smolyanova recorded the result of 17 meters 68 centimeters and has won a gold medal. In the hammer throw competitions Sukhrob Khodjayev showing the result of 74 meters 20 centimeters rose to the highest stage of the pedestal.
Thus, 11 of our athletes got right to defend the honor of Motherland at the London Olympics. Prior to this, Svetlana Radzivil, Yuliya Tarasova, Anastasiya Juravleva, Aleksandra Kotlyarova, Guzal Khubbiyeva, Anastasiya Svetchnikova, Natalya Asanova, Ivan Zaytsev and Rifat Ortikov have won tickets to take part in the Olympics.
