Business Activity Index of Uzbekistan APIC 100 made up 67.3 points in May 2012, which is 0.5 points more compared to April 2012 (66.8), the State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan said.

Business Activity Index was higher than 50 points, which shows positive development trend of business activity.

The growth was recorded in agriculture and consumer goods production (+4.7 points), capital construction and construction industry (+6.6.), machinery and electrotechnics (+0.2), as well as energy, chemical, oil and gas and metallurgy complex (+2.2).

The forecast figure for June 2012 made up 69.8 points, which shows optimistic mood of the business.

Business Activity Index in industry sector (APIC 100) was developed in June 2010 and calculated based on survey of 100 large and medium businesses. The APIC 100 replaced the Index APIC 50 (based on survey of 50 enterprises).
