Uzbek Books Win International Exhibition
Exhibits from Uzbekistan won prizes at the Ninth International Exhibition Book Art in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The Book Art exhibition presented more than 120 books: fiction, encyclopedias and photo albums from the CIS and Baltic countries.

The book ‘Masterpieces of Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan’ published by Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation in Uzbek, Russian and English languages was recognized the best edition in the ‘Culture. Science. Education’ category at the contest within the exhibition. The same book won the second prize in the ‘Art Book’ category.

The book ‘Samples of Oriental Calligraphy and the Art of Miniature (7th – 21st Centuries)’, which was compiled and published by jointly by the Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation, the Center of Memorial Complex of Bahauddin Naqshbandi and O’zbekiston publishing and printing creative house in Uzbek, Russian, English, French and Japanese languages, won in the ‘Published in the Commonwealth’ category. The book suggests unique samples of carving, portrait miniatures and calligraphy.

The book ‘Star of Turkestan’ by the publishing and printing creative house O’qituvchi and the album ‘Karakalpakstan’ published at Ma’naviyat were awarded special diplomas in the ‘Grand Prize’ category.

The five-volume edition of ‘Khamsa’ by Alisher Navoi, the album ‘125 Anniversary of Uzbek Photography’, and the collection ‘Caravan of Fairy Tales’ published in Uzbekistan were particularly mentioned in the traditional international exhibition Book Art of past years.
