Happy Caravan in Rhythmic Gymnastics ended in Tashkent. It was held at the Republican Specialized Juniors Sports School of Olympic Reserve in rhythmic gymnastics from 18 to 20 May in Tashkent.

The competitions were organized by the Federation of Gymnastics of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the country under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation.

More than 120 strongest athletes from 18 countries took part in the competitions of the World Cup. The competitions were very intense and their program included individual and group exercises, as well as all-around competitions and finals. Most gymnasts have demonstrated their high sports mastery using such sports objects like ribbon, hoop, ball and clubs.

Their performances, amazing grace, light, rapid rises above the carpet caused a genuine admiration for many spectators. It seemed as if terrestrial attraction has no power over athletes. Previous competitions have become a vivid confirmation of the fact that sports, especially gymnastics creates not only physical but also spiritual beauty.

In Uzbekistan, a special attention from the first days of independence is given to the development of sports, mass attraction of children and young people to it.

According to the resolution of the President of State, the fund of development of children’s sports of Uzbekistan was created and ecting effectively.

Tashkent hosted the World Cup competitions for the fourth time. It indicates high level development of gymnastics in Uzbekistan.

As a result of all-around competitions, Alexander Merkulov from Russia took the first place. Neta Rivkin of Israel won silver medal of the World Cup and Anna Alyabeva from Kazakhstan received a bronze medal. The representatives of Uzbekistan, respectively, took the fourth and fifth places in the two types of group exercises – “three tapes, two hoops” and “five balls”.

In the exercises with ball and hoop, Ravilya Farkhutdinova won silver and bronze medals, Valeriya Davidova in the exercises with a ribbon won bronze medal. In overall event, command of Russia won the first place, Belarus – the second and the team of Uzbekistan occupied the third place.

Noha Abu Shabana, the Technical Committee expert of the International Gymnastics Federation and the chief judge of the competition announced the closing of the World Cup competitions and the international tournament Happy Caravan in Rhythmic Gymnastics. She expressed gratitude to the Gymnastics Federation of Uzbekistan and the other organizers of the competition. (Source: UzA news agency)
