Industrial output of Uzbekistan makes up 11.318 trln. soums in 1Q
The industrial output of Uzbekistan made up 11.318 trillion soums (official exchange rate 1 USD= 1868,65 UZS) in January-March 2012, grew by 6% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In the reporting period, consumer goods were produced to the amount of 3.686 trillion soums (+5.4% year-on-year), of which food products were produced for 1.715 trillion soums (7.8%), non-food products - for 1.971 trillion soums (+3.4%).
Fuel industry (19.7% of total industrial output), light industry (15.6%), machinery and metal processing (13.3%), and food industry (13%) accounted largest share in total industrial production of Uzbekistan in the reporting period.
At the same time, the share of fuel industry grew by 2.1 percentage point year-on-year. Share of light industry decreased by 1.4 percentage points and food industry by 0.5 percentage points, the committee said.
In particular, fuel industry produced goods for 2.235 trillion soums (+4.8%), machinery and metal processing – 1.51 trillion soums (+3.7%), light industry – 1.762 trillion soums (+10.9%) and food industry – 1.472 trillion soums (+6.9%).
About 17 objects privatized in Uzbekistan in 1Q 2012
Some 17 enterprises and objects (including program and non-program objects) were privatized in Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2012, according to the State Property Committee.
The greatest number of objects was privatized in the city of Tashkent (12 objects). In the structure of privatized state property the highest share falls upon objects of local authorities – 15 objects, the State Statistics Committee said.
Receipts of money from privatization and decentralization amounted to 8.4 billion soums (official exchange rate 1 USD= 1868,65 UZS) in January-March 2012.
The most part of receipts received from decentralization and privatization was marked in Khorezm oblast (52.4% of total receipts) and Tashkent city (39.6%). (Source: UzDaily.com)
Uzbekistan announces tender to reconstruct road A-380
The government of Uzbekistan announced a tender for reconstruction of the road Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu (A380) road section from km 315 to km 355.
The tender was announced to reconstruct 40-km road with replacement of 2 asphalt lanes to 4 lanes of cement concrete pavement.
In line with the tender terms, all interested companies should submit their tender proposals till 5 July 2012.
The reconstruction works of road will be financed due to loan of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Uzbekistan has applied a Loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) using ADB\'s Multitranche Financing Facility (MFF) towards the cost of road reconstruction of about 222 Km of national highways with extension from 2 asphalt lanes to 4 lanes of cement concrete pavement under the CAREC Corridor 2 Road Investment Program.
It is intended that part of the proceeds of the MFF will be applied to payments under Tranche 3 civil works contract Reconstruction of A380 Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu road section from km 315 to km 355 (40 km) for which this invitation for bids is issued. (Source: UzDaily.com)
