A Concentration of National Art
Charm of national music and dances of the Uzbek people, as well as their special features in various regions of Uzbekistan have been demonstrated at the colorific festival Ringing Tunes of Chanqovuz took place in the capital.
The creative competition was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports under the assistance of the State Museum of Applied Art and Historical-archeological Internet-society Terra Termez. The contest brought together at halls of the State Museum of Applied Art performers from Surkhondaryo, Qashqadaryo, Navoi, Bukhoro and Tashkent. Contenders have demonstrated their skills in playing old musical instruments – ushpiloq, simizgha, and chanqovuz.
Chanqovuz evoked great interest in people, as to the honor of this distinctive instrument was named the contest. Nodir Normatov, Zafar Hayitov, Halima Qurbonova, Namoz Ro’ziev, Aychanam Zakirova and Zulaykho Begimqulova from Surkhondaryo, Hursand Haydarova from Bukhoro, Qunduz Qurbonova from Karakalpakstan, Buriqul Jumaeva and Fazliddin Abdurazzoqov became the laureates of the contest.
