Wings with Sweep: Expert community appreciates the accomplishments of the national airline
Uzbekistan Airways national airline won the prize of Flight Safety Foundation International in the category “For outstanding achievements in ensuring safety”. Representatives of the air company were awarded a diploma and a special prize in a solemn ceremony in Moscow on May 15, 2012.

Uzbekistan Airways national airline (NAC) is awarded for a purposeful and efficient job on ensuring safety through the upgrade, introduction of cutting-edge technologies and administration methods, and professional advancement of the staff in all services, as noted during the award ceremony.

Addressing crucial tasks on the development of civil aviation in sovereign Uzbekistan, NAC has set ambitious goals, with the focus on safety of flights, since the early days of its foundation.

For two decades, a scaled work has been done to create the necessary infrastructure, renovate the fleet, and build modern terminals and runways.

Thus, as a part of the upgrade, the fleet was replenished with modern aircrafts by known world and domestic aircraft manufacturers. Today, all flights are operated by highly skilled crews of the Flight Complex on Airbus, Boeing, RJ and Il-114-100.

Aircraft maintenance has been organized on a breakthrough level.

The staff of Uzbekistan Airways Technics has handled all kinds of service on NAC operated aircrafts, as well as those of foreign air carriers. The high quality of work ensures a high level of safety.

The company carries out a perpetual work on the upgrade, reconstruction, technical and technological extension of terrestrial services, and particularly the entire airport infrastructure.

International air harbors Tashkent, Samarqand, Bukhoro, Urganch, Navoi, Termiz are equipped with the latest equipment for air navigation, aircraft maintenance, they provide all conditions to ensure the safety and quality of passenger service.

These and many other elements shape an effective system of management and coordination of the complicated and interrelated complex, which is the civil aviation. Hence, the award is a high evaluation of the work of many thousand staff of Uzbekistan Airways on ensuring flight safety; this is the recognition of their professionalism and good motivation for further advancement.

Context

Established in 1999, Flight Safety Foundation International unites the airlines, air navigation companies, industrial and scientific enterprises and organizations, education institutions, insurance companies, and other aviation organizations in Russia, CIS and far abroad.
