Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China Yang Jiechi in Beijing on 10 May 2012.

The state and perspectives of multidimensional interstate relations, practical aspects of enhancing cooperation were discussed.

The parties exchanged views on implementation of agreements, reached during the state visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in April 2011, which boosted wide-ranging cooperation in different realms.

Successful organization of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental committee on cooperation in October 2011, aimed at achieving qualitatively new level of interaction on priority areas, was noted.

During the meeting the parties also exchanged views on issues on the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the SCO Council of foreign ministers. Special attention was paid to the strategically important directions of SCO activity- provision of regional security and stability, creation of favorable conditions for development of trade and economic relations, increasing the wellbeing of the people in our countries.
