An International conference on role and importance of family in development of inclusive education was held in Tashkent.

The conference was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Ministry of Culture and Sport, Social Initiatives Support Fund, Uzbekistan Special Olympics and National Paralympic Association of Uzbekistan, as well as UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan.

Senators and MPs of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, representatives of education sector, experts from the United States, Great Britain, Belgium, Kazakhstan and other countries participated at the conference.

Participants discussed issues of training specialists on work with people with limited abilities, their employment, strengthening legal base for inclusive education, creation of infrastructure for people with disabilities.

Within the conference, Special Olympics Europe-Eurasia handed over certificated to the Social Initiatives Support Fund for contribution to development of inclusive education.

According to official statistics, inclusive education is introduced at about 6,000 general education schools in Uzbekistan. (Source: UzDaily.com)
