Tashkent held talks between Uzbek and Korean entrepreneurs
As part of the visit of the delegation of business circles of the Republic of South Korea to Uzbekistan talks between Uzbek and Korean entrepreneurs have been held in Tashkent.
The visit of the Korean delegation was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Korean-Eurasian Industrial Technology Cooperation Center (KEITCC) at the Korea Polytechnic University.
The delegation included heads of Korean companies engaged in the production of environmentally clean technologies, energy saving lamps, plastics, car parts and equipment for furniture manufacturing
During the business negotiations the sides discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation, the establishment of direct mutual contacts, enhancement of prospects of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
In 2011 the bilateral trade volume between our two countries amounted to $1,628 million, including exports of $142.4 million and import of $1,485.6 million.
Today, there are 359 enterprises with Korean investments in Uzbekistan, of which 62 with one hundred percent of Korean capital.
Their activities are mainly associated with trade, light industry, mining and metallurgy, chemical industry, food industry, machine building and metal working, housing and utilities, healthcare, tourism and services.
The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan accredited representatives of 84 Korean companies. (Source: UzReport.com)
