32 specialized fish farms to be built this year in Farghona region.
Specialized fish farms play an important role in the provision of fish and fishery products. Currently there are 120 fish farms operating in the region. In 2011, they have grown more than 750 tons of fish.
Thanks to the development of this business the cost of fish reduced by 30%.
This year, farmers are going to continue the work in this direction. In the cities of Farghona and Kuvasay, there are to limited companies Omad and Urokboy Ota; in Buvayda and Besharik districts there are Ekubali and Balik Beshariq who, along with fish farming, supply specialized fish farms with fish eggs for fry breeding.
In 2011, two live-fish stores opened in Farghona, one store opened in Margilan and another in Quqon. This year, suppliers are planning to open 16 such stores in cities and districts of the region. (Source: “Uzbekistan Today” newspaper)
