Triumph of Young Musicians: Their talent is highly appraised abroad
Students of the Glier Republican Specialized Music Academic Lyceum have participated in the 7th Glazunov International Contest of Young Violinists, Viola Players and Cellists that took place in Paris, France. The artistic competition resulted with prize places of Uzbek musicians.
Along with students and tutors from Uzbekistan the contest has been attended by representatives from Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Sweden, Switzerland, and South Korea.
Young cellist Abduboriy Abdughaffarov, violinists Dostonbek Ghulomjonov, Bobur Mahkamboev and Kim Che Von, Zahrokhon Karimova and Mashkura Azizova brilliantly performed products of classic composers – Dmitry Shostakovich, Edvard Grieg, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Camille Saint Saens and others. All of them were awarded the first prize. Young teacher Diana Tyukova came third among viola players.
The young violinist Alirna Korieva achieved big success. For her brilliant performance of compositions of Yahiel Sabzanov, Henryk Venyavsky, Henri Vieuxtemps and Niccolo Paganini she was awarded the main prize of the contest – Grand Prix.
“I feel great honor of participating in such a prestigious contest. I do happy of winning the grand prize. Thanks to my tutors I managed to perform worthily,” Alirna Korieva emphasizes.
Summing up the results of the contests, head of the international jury, Professor at a number of European conservatories, Honored Artist of Lithuania Yurgis Dvarionas stated that participation of young musicians from Uzbekistan contributed the further consolidation of the contest’s prestige.
Congratulating the winners, he expressed the hope that Uzbek musicians would be regular participants of the traditional international Glazunov contest. Diligent work of tutors and attention of the government in fostering comprehensively advanced youth stand behind the triumph of students of the Glier Lyceum.
