Improving Legislation
Council of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan convenes a session.
The Senate approved a resolution on convening of the eighth plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on 23-24 March in Tashkent.
The agenda of the plenary session includes a range of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at progressive reformation and liberalization of all spheres of šīlitical, social and economic life.
In particular, they are the laws \'On introducing amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, \'On guaranteeing of freedom of entrepreneurship\', \'On introducing amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan due to the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan \'On the exchange of credit information\', and a number of other laws that envisage the further support and development of business, democratization of state power and administration, and reformation of the judicial system that were elaborated in line with the \'Concept of intensifying democratic reforms and forming the civil society in the country\'.
Along with that, the next plenary session of the Senate in accordance with Article 80 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is expected to address the reports on the activities of the Prosecutor\'s Office agency system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic Uzbekistan, a Commissioner of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on Human Rights (Ombudsman), the State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2011. The senators will consider the information to the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the state of execution of laws by governmental agencies, law enforcement and regulatory agencies in 2011.
It is also expected that the regular session will include parliamentary hearings on the execution of the Job Creation Program by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The session will also address the issues within the attribution of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. (Source: Uzbekistan Today Newspaper)
