For seven years enterprises of Uzdonmahsulot produced more than 5.3 million tons of fortified flour.
In 2005-2011 Uzdonmahsulot enterprises produced and sold more than 5.3 million ton of fortified flour to consumers in Uzbekistan. For two months of 2012 they produced 210 more tons of fortified flour. This information was announced at a press conference on \"Providing the domestic consumer market with quality food\", organized by the National press-center of Uzdonmahsulot. It was noted that since 2001 the country carries out planned activities on flour fortification with vitamin-mineral mixture. The main objective is to reduce the incidence of anemia by fortification of most popular among population first grade flour with iron and vitamins. A new step to improve the health of the population in the country has been the adoption in 2010 of the Law \"On prevention of micronutrient deficiency among the population\". As part of this law, production of first grade baking flour is carried out only in the form enriched with micronutrients since the January 1, 2011. At the press conference was the main focus was made on the issues of modernization and technical re-equipment of the industry. In 2011, 31.1 billion soums of investments were disbursed as part of more than 50 investment projects. Three new feed, 5 baking, 3pasta, 4 seed-cleaning plants, 16 storage tanks with 147.6 thousand tons capacity have been commissioned. 17 seed-cleaning, two feed and one bakery shop were upgraded. The introduced seed-cleaning plants are upgraded with modern technological equipment of German company Petkus. As a result, increase in capacity of seed-cleaning plants has been provided, seeds processing quality improved, transport costs reduced due to their processing on the field. In 2012, the industry implements 13 investment projects. Modernization and reconstruction are aimed at improving the efficiency of milling and animal feed production, consistent reduction of production costs, introduction of modern energy saving technologies. The company currently includes 44 bakeries and their 34 branches, supplying domestic consumers with flour, cereals, animal feed, as well as bread, pasta and pastries. Production is carried out by 55 mills, 45 feed, 40 baking, 25 pasta, 63 seed-cleaning plants and five plants for the production of grits. In 2011 the population of the country was delivered more than 1.4 million tons of flour, 38.7 thousand tons of bread, 22.4 thousand tons of pasta, 662 tons of barley and 500 tons of semolina.
