REMAINING 58 PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTIES ELECTED ON SUNDAY
Preliminary results of re-voting on elections to Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan indicate that deputies from all 58 election constituencies were elected.

?Re-voting in all constituencies was held in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan,? Buritosh Mustafayev, chairman of the Central Election Commission, told journalists on Monday.

5.9 million or 80% of 6.8 million registered voters took part in the Sunday elections, he noted.

In six constituencies of Tashkent city, 71.2% of voters cast their ballots. Voter turnout in other regions of Uzbekistan ranged between 74.1% and 84.6%.

?No complains on violation of election legislation were received. Questions from citizens on matters of elections were answered in time,? Mustafayev said.

Uzbekistan held parliamentary elections on 26 December, and about 12.19 million people of 14.32 million eligible voters cast their votes.

A total of 120 deputies will work on a constant basis in the Legislative Chamber of the parliament. The laws prepared by them will have to be approved by the 100-member upper chamber, Senate.

Along with parliamentary elections, re-voting to people?s councils was also held at 946 or 15% of election constituencies on Sunday.
