\"O\'zbekyengilsanoat\": The light industry during the years of independence attracted $2.2 billion
The XI international Uzbek cotton and textile fair, which began its work yesterday in Tashkent involved more than 100 domestic textile, sewing and knitting enterprises of the JSC \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\". The light industry of Uzbekistan for years of independence took a strong position in the macroeconomic sector. Thanks to established under the leadership of President Islam Karimov favorable conditions, benefits and preferences, sound regulatory framework companies within the industry achieve great success and reach a qualitatively new stage of development.
The following figures can demonstrate the role of light industry in economic development of Uzbekistan: by the results of the first half its share in GDP amounted to 3.8%, in industrial output – 26.2%, in the production of non-food consumer goods – over 44%. The key to achieving high production performance is carried out in our country effective policies to attract foreign investment and technology, modernization, technical and technological renewal of production, the development of small business and private entrepreneurship.
As a result, during the years of independence of our country the sector raised over $2.2 billion investments, and implemented more than 180 major investment projects, the press service of the JSC \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\" said.
Today the JSC \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\" includes 312 textile, sewing and knitwear enterprises, enterprises on production of silk products, equipped with the latest technology. They have the ability to supply the foreign market the widest range of products – from yarn to finished products. Modern design and high-quality parameters make our products competitive and allow us to occupy a worthy place in the international market. Currently the company \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\" makes export to 45 countries, and sales geography is constantly expanding.
One of the most important tasks of the “O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat” at modern stage, is the strengthening of international cooperation and attraction of foreign partners to modernization, technical and technological update of production, wide promotion of domestic goods to international markets, implementation of innovative projects, which allow to raise the light industry of Uzbekistan to a qualitatively new level.
The annual International cotton fair will undoubtedly contribute to the implementation of large-scale projects, through attracting the leading world producers to the development of a mutual relationship with Uzbekistan in cotton and textile business.
To demonstrate the potential of light industry the JSC \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\" and operating within its structure the Agency for advertising & marketing of textile products in conjunction with the NEC \\\"Uzexpocentre\\\" prepared textile pavilion with an area of nearly 2000 square meters.
Domestic textile and knitting enterprises exhibit cotton yarn and fabrics, dyed and blended yarn, knitted fabric, knitwear and ready garments, hosiery products, terry products, home textiles, workwear and uniforms, and other goods of light industry.
Such famous companies as \\\"Osborn textile\\\", \\\"Fergana Daewoo\\\", \\\"Daewoo Bukhara\\\", \\\"Indorama Kokand textile\\\", \\\"Textile Technology Group\\\", \\\"Alkim textiles\\\", \\\"Biryuza group\\\", \\\"Konteks Tashkent\\\", \\\"BF textile\\\", \\\"Fresh style\\\", \\\"Lucbo textiles\\\", \\\"Uztex\\\", \\\"Plastex\\\" and many others attended the fair with their own stands.
Design-center \\\"Sharq, liboslari\\\" under the \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\" has prepared a fashion show of clothes of our domestic producers. The clothes of companies of the industry and famous designers of Uzbekistan will be demonstrated on the catwalk.
In addition, in the framework of the forthcoming forum, the \\\"O\\\'zbekyengilsanoat\\\" will organize high-level presentations about the potential of the domestic textile industry, including provided incentives and preferences, favourable investment climate, skilled labor and raw materials, advanced manufacturing, financial and banking, transport and engineering-communication infrastructures.
The representatives of major textile companies such as, the President of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) P. Gnagy and the President of \\\"Swiss Capital international AG\\\" P. Shafluzell (Switzerland), the Chairman of \\\"Korea Industrial Technology Development Organization\\\" J. Chung and others will make their speeches at the conference.
By the results of the XI International Uzbek cotton fair, the enterprises of light industry are planning to conclude mutually beneficial contracts for the sale of yarns, textiles and finished products, to exchange experience with leading experts, to attract investments and new technologies in our country.
