BRITISH EXPERT ABOUT ACHIEVEMENTS OF UZBEKISTAN OVER THE YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE
Correspondent of Jahon Information Agency in Great Britain spoke with Dr. Nick Megoranom Newcastle University, specializing in issues of geopolitics, history, ethnography and religions of the peoples of Central Asia. During the meeting, the British expert shared his views on the current development of our country, its domestic and foreign policy.
- Since independence, Uzbekistan began to conduct a peaceful foreign policy strategy aimed at strengthening security and stability in the region, - he said. - At present, the Central Asian countries need to increase cooperation, including in the areas of trade and economy, education and culture. The country is situated in the heart of region, it is playing a leading role in these processes.
One of the major successes of the Republic is to ensure inter-ethnic harmony and inter-religious tolerance. State policy aimed at preserving and developing the traditions, customs and ceremonies of different nations and peoples living on Uzbek land became the main factor of it. This progress is of special significance in the light of wars and conflicts continuing in many parts of the world.
In conclusion, let me express the hope that the relationship between the UK and Uzbekistan will continue to consistently develop in various areas, including in the field of academic and educational exchanges.
