- In his speech, the Head of your state has described the country’s priority areas since independence, outlined the strategic objectives for further movement.
I think that the Constitution of Uzbekistan is a powerful foundation for the successful transformation of Uzbek society. The country has made impressive progress for a historically short period of time; Uzbekistan from the raw material appendage of the totalitarian state has became a modern full member of the world community with advanced technological economy, a highly educated population, which is actively involved in the country’s life. The standard of living increased at times, democratic reforms are dynamically passing in the years of independence.
Increasing confidence of the world’s leading states and foreign partners is an evidence of reliability and increasing prestige of Uzbekistan in the international arena, which is reflected in the large amount of investment in the economy, primarily in the products manufacture with high added value.
In his speech, President Islam Karimov stressed that today the main aim is to build a democratic state of law and a fair society. In this regard, special attention should be committed to further reform of the judicial system and improve control over the law enforcement agencies’ activities.
In addition, the Uzbek leader has given an impressive information related to implemented budget projects in 2015 in the framework of the “Year of attention and care for the older generation”, and proposed to declare the upcoming 2016 in Uzbekistan the “Year of healthy mother and child”, thus underlining the continuity of generations and the state’s constant concern of its every citizen.
