VIEW FROM LATVIA: “A NEW MODERN COUNTRY IS BEING BUILT BASED ON THE CONSTITUTION OF UZBEKISTAN”
The solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Riga. The meeting was organized by the Embassy of our country in the Republic of Latvia and the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA). The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as socio-political, scientific, academic and business circles of Latvia, students and the media.
The participants were acquainted with the main provisions of the report of the President Islam Karimov at the solemn meeting devoted to the 23 anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic.
It was noted that the Constitution of our country guarantees rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of man, contributes to the development of a strong civil society and a democratic state. Attention was drawn to the social orientation of the country’s public policy that is consistently implemented in accordance with the Main Law.
The meeting provided information about the achievements of Uzbekistan in different spheres, economic and investment potential of our country, the implementation of strategic programs for structural reforms, modernization and diversification of industry, infrastructure development, as well as privatization and improvement of corporate governance.
In addition, guests of the event have gotten acquainted with rich historical-cultural and scientific heritage of the Uzbek people. Videos about Uzbekistan, stands under the name “Tashkent”, “Bukhara”, “Samarkand” with photos and samples of products of national crafts were presented.
For their part, visitors of the event highly appreciated the results of large-scale reforms conducted in our country, implementation of relevant state programs.
In particular, Rector of the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA) Irina Sennikova has shared her views on the role of the Main Law of our country in the life of society and the state.

The Constitution is the foundation of the state’s political, legal and economic systems. We are witnessing the great respect to Uzbekistan’s Main Law, on the basis of which a new modern country is being built.
